Highlanders,

Brandi Walker of LHAND just informed the Highland Coalition, that the 21 people who signed for $3,000 grants to fix their homes (mostly along Rockaway St.) will get their wishes !

LHAND will send them a letter confirming this. At our March 24th meeting, Brandi will explain the program. They have to use the money by mid-June.

The people are:

Betancourt, Churn, Canneyu, Cormier, Owens, Barrera, Hiltz, Carrasco, Bellamah, Filias, Saldana, Bernd, Calixte, Monticore, Newhall, Manzueta, Perez, Reyes, Hewson, Joseph, 25 Rockaway (?).

Do you guys know anything about the new rule or law about no loitering? I find it really ABSURD! Paying about $300? That's too rash. I believe loitering isn't a crime, but being arrested with a fine of $300 is! No one should be emitted to pay this amount just for hanging around the corner for awhile. I think the law is a horrible crime!

Oh, I almost forgot, WE PEOPLE, (the citizens of LYNN) are becoming poorer and yet they still have the right to brush us to the curb, thinking we're rich? COME ON! What's wrong with the world today?!

Pathetic. How low has the city of Lynn stooped to have to charge teenagers for standing around? We've all done it before. Was it wrong of us? Of course not. You'd think that the heads of Lynn would be getting smarter in enforcing good laws but hey, the world isn't all it's cracked up to be especially with these poor excuse of police officers who haven't the decency to at least try to hear us people out.

It's nothing but question and no answer. Arrest? No kidding. Penalty fine? Of course. Court? Why not? These officers have become corrupt have they not? I mean, they're supposed to protect and abide by the people. Not prejudge them and suspect those who dress differently to be doing something bad. Hell, there are good people out there who dress like gangsters. Doesn't mean they are but it doesn't mean they deserve the same kind of treatment.

If it were up to me, let it be. Lynn's already strict as it is. Police officers in schools and gangs... The world is in a state of complete of lock-down as it is. So stop passing these kinds of laws that you know won't work. Better yet, you know that they're stupid.
